Sick

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted...we've had a crazy couple of weeks!

First off...we (Elli and I) had to make a really quick trip home. My little brother Spencer came home from Hawaii and we needed to go be with family to offer our support. It was great to see him and we wish him well! We love you Spencer!!!

Second...Elli is 8 months old now...it's totally nuts! She weighs 19 lbs 7 oz. She is into EVERYTHING! She is not quite crawling yet, but really close...she is just too lazy!!! She still only has two teeth, but is working on getting 2 more, but is still a very good baby!

Third, we have all been SUPER sick! We got home from our little vacation, and I was sick...ended up going to the doc and having to have IV fluids I was so dehydrated and such...I got feeling better, and Elli got worse. I took her in and they said she was fine to just keep watching her. Well, 2 days later, this would have been Friday...she was doing really poorly, having a hard time breathing, coughing, and a fever of 101.5 so I took her back in. They said she was just hitting the worst part of her little cold and it would get better....Saturday was a good day for her, but Tom started getting really sick and we took him to the doctor. He tested negative for the Flu, but had a fever and cough and the yuck...Elli didn't sleep all night on Saturday, up all the time, coughing like crazy, pulling her ears, having a hard time breathing, etc so I brought her into my bed. Still no sleep. I knew she had a fever and was trying to push fluids and meds, but she wasn't interested. Got up Sunday (today) and found the thermometer and took her temp it read under her arm at 101.5, meaning 102.5 so I started freaking! She was sick, and I knew it. So we called the hospital...our doc is closed on the weekend. The hospital said they wanted to see her right away. So we got up and dressed and went over to Parker Childrens Hospital (great hospital by the way). They took her temp there and it was 103.1 and her heart rate over 180 which is too high. We saw the doc and he confirmed she had an ear infection (just like I thought) in her left ear and they decided to run a flu test. So they flush her nose with a catheter and take samples...30 minutes later it was confirmed that she had the flu. They say the worst of it is over, so we'll hope they are right. We are ALL exhausted and need a good nights sleep!

Thanks to all our friends who help us out...especially John and Tammy! We couldn't do this without you guys!

We'll post again soon!
